I write whisky reviews. That’s it.

At Whisky World, I review whiskies from all over, stretching from Scotland to Japan. You can expect full bottle breakdowns, honest thoughts and human opinions on the whisky market’s best offerings.

From new releases, small batch bottlings or all-time classics, Whisky World is a destination for whisky advice and reviews to give insight about your next dram, birthday gift or savvy cask investment.

Who are you?

Angus Hogg.

When did this start?

After a few ‘nippy sweeties’ one night and more than a decade of blogging in other industries, I launched Whisky World in November 2022.

Why do you do this?

Like many age-old markets, whisky can be somewhat stuffy and exclusive. With exciting new brands and distilleries paving a newer, more contemporary path, I wanted to learn more about our national drink here in Scotland. This blog is for people who’re just as curious as I am.

How do your make reviews?

Whisky is either bought ourselves or gifted to us. It is then hastily enjoyed. It is then reviewed.

How do you make money?

The reviews on Whisky World may contain affiliate links to products. This means I may receive a commission for purchases made through these links. However, this does not impact my reviews and comparisons. I try my best to keep things fair and balanced to help you make the best choice for you.

Where are you based?

Currently, I’m based in Glasgow Scotland – where whisky is spelt properly without an ‘e’.

Do you accept guest posts?

Yes. If you’re a whisky enthusiast, SEO, or excellent writer let’s talk.
